When federal subsidies expired this year, New Mexico stepped up and fully replaced them to help keep families covered.

A historic win for New Mexico — and it happened because of you.

In the final hours of the 2026 Legislative Session, HB 4 passed the Legislature and is now on the Governor’s desk. Championed by Rep. Szczepanski and Sen. Gonzales, this bill secures sustainable funding for the Health Care Affordability Fund, helping protect families, stabilize coverage, and keep healthcare costs affordable — especially as federal premium tax credits expire and Medicaid faces drastic federal cuts.

This victory was powered by the families, providers, organizers, and advocates who showed up, shared their stories, and pushed for action. Your voices made the difference — from the Roundhouse and across the state.

Here are a few highlights from the session. Thank you for standing with us! please stay involved by joining our email list, sharing your story, and inviting others to be part of this work. We are stronger together.
